Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
I’ve been a hardcore fan of the Budokai Tenkaichi trilogy since the PS2 days. When I heard about Sparking! Zero, I braced myself. Did it hit the mark? Yes and no. It’s a gorgeous, fun ride — but also one with missed opportunities. And yes, the game is fun. It’s flashy, it’s gorgeous, and when you’re mid-air trading ki blasts it feels like pure Dragon Ball. The roster is massive, the transformations look incredible, and the visuals might be the best we’ve ever had in a Dragon Ball game. But here’s the thing: as much as I enjoyed it, I can’t shake the feeling that it could have been better. What works - Stunning visuals and anime-accurate presentation - Huge character roster that scratches the nostalgia itch - Combat that captures the speed and chaos of DBZ battles What disappoints - Some controls and menus feel clunky - Game modes and story content are too shallow compared to Tenkaichi 3 - Certain battles rely too much on trial and error - Balance and accessibility issues make it frustrating for newcomers Verdict Sparking! Zero delivers when it comes to spectacle and nostalgia. For veterans like me, it’s a welcome return to a style of fighting that defined our childhoods. But it doesn’t fully evolve the formula, and that leaves me both happy and a little frustrated.
